Readers’ emails: More ParkingEye pain at Aldi
Subject: Parking eye
I recently had a work trial at aldi’s. I was told by the manager I was allowed to park in the stores car park. At the end of the trial the manager took my car details down as the trial was longer then the maximum stay of 1hour 30 minutes. I have received a £70 parking fine from parking eye now. is there anything I can do?
Firstly, have you tried asking Aldi to get it cancelled? In your case Aldi absolutely should get this cancelled – and it is absolutely within their power to do so. Don’t get fobbed off, be persistent.
In parallel to doing that, you would probably be well advised to engage with the appeals process. You shouldn’t have to do this, but if you didn’t get anywhere with Aldi cancelling it, then you need to appeal whilst that route is still available to you. If you use our guide, then you will almost certainly beat them at the 2nd stage independent appeal (known as POPLA).
Best of luck, PC.
